Applications are now open for the in the 2024 Duke Divinity School Preaching Initiative.  This opportunity is funded by The Parish Ministry Fund and The Duke Endowment and will be taught by the Rev. Dr. Michael B. Brown.

The curriculum is comprised of nine sessions that will meet once a month between March and November. Sessions are scheduled from 2-4pm on Thursday afternoons, with the first session meeting on March 7. Please note that the cohort will meet virtually from March – October and will end with an in-person gathering in November. Each session will require advance reading and preparation and will entail approximately 120 minutes of lecture and discussion.
In addition to the leadership of Michael Brown, we will be joined several times throughout the year by nationally known practitioners.  Previous years guests have included Susan Sparks, Amy Butler, Karoline Lewis, Micah McCreary, Kevin Murriel, Corey Walker, and Lillian Daniel.
The program is available to clergy in the WNCC and NCC who wish to take their preaching to the next level. Space is limited. If you are interested in participating, please click on the following link to complete a short application by Friday, January 19.
